Finland has the best educational system in the world. And why?
Because of the homogeneity of its system: There are no private schools, only public schools and All school common trunks are the same everywhere. They have opted for a pedagogy based on collective work. This system really pays off because Finland is one of the countries with the smallest gaps in student performance.
Because the teaching profession is highly respected. In Finland, there is no shortage of teachers, there are many more students who want to study than there are places available.
There is no repetition (or almost)
The teachers adapt the courses to the level of their students and provide remedial sessions within the school for those who have difficulties.
In Finland, students hold the record for the fewest hours of class time. Teachers teach for 45 minutes and then students have 15 minutes of recess.
Students have almost no homework
Students are also not assessed for the first six years of school.
The school is completely free, even the full lunch that is served to the students. Textbooks are also provided as well as transportation to classes for students who live far away.
In addition, education is an important factor in Finland's economic success. The educational level of Finns is high with a literacy rate of 99%. Basic education in Finland consists of nine years of compulsory schooling for everyone between the ages of 7 and 16. One year of kindergarten at age six is optional, but today 96% of six-year-olds attend kindergarten.
Finally, the Finnish higher education system consists of two parallel sectors: polytechnics and universities. The universities are known for their scientific research and higher education. The polytechnics are more vocationally oriented and operate on the basis of higher requirements for practical expertise set by employers. And, we will have the chance to study at Savonia University of Applied Sciences.
The campus appears large and state-of-the-art and there is even a bookstore in the university. Then, Savonnia's campus is shared with companies and research centers. Courses for exchange students of School of Engineering and Technology 2021/2022 are divided in 8 part :
