Discover Finland through the experiences of 6 students
WHO ARE WE?
We are a group of 6 engineering school students from Aix-en-Provence, in France. From January to May 2022, we are attending the University of Applied Science of Savonia, in Kuopio, Finland. We will stay there for the whole semester, as part of an Erasmus.
We will tell you here about our trip, our discoveries, our experiences, throughout the coming months in Finland.

OCÉANE ANTHONY

Hi! My name is Océane, I'm 20 years old and I'm currently a student in the first year of my engineering degree in Risk Management and Environment at ESAIP in Aix-en-Provence.
I love travelling and discovering new things; this passion is probably due to my double culture (French and Togolese). My numerous trips have allowed me to acquire an open mind which is important for my personal and professional development. I am also part of an association Kids'Hope which helps children in hospital and finally I love sports and thrills!
I am passionate about science and I would like to go towards a career in which agronomy, biology or food will be very present.
I am sure that this Erasmus in Finland will bring me a lot and will be a great experience for me.

Hello! My name is Justine and I am 20, I study in Aix en Provence, in the South of France. I enjoy sports and meeting new people to share some great experiences! I love to explore nature, mountains and forests. For me, it is really important to connect with people and environnement. I am looking forward to discover Finland, its landscapes and traditions!

My name is Lisa, I am 20 years old and I come from Aix- En- Provence. I am a student in Engineering school at ESAIP in Aix- En- Provence. I want to specialise in environmental risk management.
Additionally, I have a keen interest in community life. For example, I am the CEO of the Kids' Hope association, which provides support for sick children. This project has given me many relational and professional skills. Furthermore, I love travelling, meeting new people, discovering new landscapes and ways of life. Studying in Finland is for me a unique experience through the discovery of a new culture, new people, new landscapes, a new climate.So I'm looking forward to discovering Finland.
JEANNE LECLERCQ
Hello, I'm Jeanne Leclercq!
I will be celebrating my 21st birthday in Finland. I am currently a student at the ESAIP engineering school in Aix-en-Provence. My professional project is to obtain my diploma specialising in QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety and Environment).
I have a thirst for travel and escape. I have had many opportunities to go on adventures such as South Africa, Canada, New York etc.. This trip to Finland I really see it as a chance to combine the useful (with course planning, language learning) with the enjoyable (visiting, discovering new landscapes and a new culture).
I'm looking forward to skating on frozen lakes, contemplating and capturing beautiful scenery, and going on adventures to other regions like Lapland.
Moreover, I am very involved in the associative life, I am president of a humanitarian association which helps the homeless in the city of Aix-en-Provence, Homel'Aix. I am also a member of the BDE (Bureau Des Elèves), which keeps the school dynamic. Concerned about the environment, I also participated in the organisation of the Grenoble Nation Event, with the help of the student COP2, planned for April 2020 and which unfortunately did not take place because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
All these experiences have allowed me to acquire many personal and professional skills.
CHLOÉ WILLEKENS

Hello, my name is Chloé Willekens, I’m 20 years old, and I’m currently in 3rd year of engineering school at ESAIP. Before coming to Esaip I studied space and aeronotics at IPSA during two years. I used to pilot helicopters( 22 hours in total), now I’m more into first aid volunteering and humanitarian missions. Also, I’ve been practicing karate for 6 years now, and I used to do a lot of tennis. Last but not the least, I had the opportunity to travel a lot with my family. We went to India, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia ,USA and Cuba. So now, I’m really looking forward to discover a northern country like Finland! I’ve always dreamt of expedition, in northern countries! Here is my chance!
