For transportation in Kuopio, the most convenient way to travel would be to buy the waltti travel card rather than buying each time a single ticket at 2,48€.
Ticket pricing is based on zones. The ticket price is determined by whether you are traveling in one or more zones. For example, when traveling from Zone A to Zone C, you need a three-zone ticket. Kuopio is in the zone C so the prices for student are :
Season ticket: 63,5€/ 2 months
Kausilippu 3kk: 187,5€/ 3 months
Kausilippu 6kk: 393€/ 6 months
Kausilippu 12kk: 749€/ 1 year
Since we’re staying 5 months, the less expensive option would be to take a card of 3 months+ 1 season tickets it would cost us 250€
Unfortunately, we can’t benefit from the student reduced rate because we have to study at least 8 months in Kuopio.
As kuopio is a small city, in april and may when spring appears, it would be nice to have a bike to cycle around.
