Hello everyone and welcome to our blog !
We are a group of 6 engineering school students from Aix-en-Provence, in France. From January to May 2022, we are attending the University of Applied Science of Savonia, in Kuopio, Finland. We will stay there for the whole semester, as part of an Erasmus.We will tell you here about our trip, our discoveries, our experiences, throughout the coming months in Finland.
Kuopio is a city in east-central Finland. It is the 8th largest city in the country. Important student city, it is at the center of the 8th agglomeration (approximately 119,000 inhabitants). Capital of the North Savonia region, it is also the largest city in the province of Eastern Finland (the provincial capital being located in Mikkeli). It is an urban pole and the city marks the heart of Savonia, its inhabitants are known to be warm and talkative.
Several Finnish culinary specialties such as kalakukko originate from Kuopio or the immediate surroundings.
