Kuopas is an agency where all student residences in Kuopio are listed. There are single room rentals, also called cells, where the room is individual but the kitchen, bathroom and living room are shared in the same flat. Of course, these cells are not mixed.
We also have the possibility to choose a whole apartment/flat taking into account the availability of the agency. The shared apartment can be for two people or four people.
In our case, as we are travelling with 6 students, we chose to organise ourselves in two groups of three people. This meant that we did not manage to have our two roommates in the same residence.
On the website, we have the possibility to search for residences by region. We can choose between 9 regions including Haapaniemi, Keskusta, Levänen, Neulamäki, Niirala, Puijonlaakso, Rauhalahti, Särkilahti, Särkiniemi.
Other criteria we can choose from are:
- Whether the flat is furnished or not. Knowing that we are going for "only 6 months" and we are not going to invest in furniture.
- Sauna in the flat
- Balcony
- Parking space
